The emerging Guild of Space Professionals was well represented at the UK Space Agency’s Space Power Conference 2026, with its Co-Founders, Karen Earle Lile and David Sandy, Interim Clerk Alan Thompson, and Founding Council members Rear Admiral Anthony Williams, Joshua Broom, Mark Wheatley, Patrick Cahill, and Anushka Sharma all attending in their respective professional capacities.
Two Founding Council members were featured speakers at the conference: Rear Admiral Anthony Williams in his new capacity as Space Portfolio Director of the National Armaments Director Group and Joshua Broom in his new capacity as Space Policy Lead and Deputy Head Strategic Effects, MOD.
Their participation reflected the breadth of professional experience already represented within the Guild across defence, government, industry and the wider space sector.
Throughout the conference, a number of small, informal Guild convenings also took place during breaks, over coffee and in the reception areas. These were not formal Guild meetings, but something perhaps equally valuable at this formative stage: opportunities for Co-Founders, the Interim Clerk and Founding Council members to come together naturally within the professional space community, exchange thoughts and continue building the relationships from which the Guild is taking shape.
